Meet the Tutors

Hello, my name is Yara Mansour, and I am a graduate of UC Riverside with a degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish. I have extensive experience tutoring during my undergraduate years and also worked as a science teacher after graduating. I am very passionate about teaching and understand how frustrating it can be to feel stuck on certain concepts. Reaching out for help is a great first step, and I am here to offer support. I enjoy working with students to find study strategies and teaching methods that are tailored to their individual needs, so they can continue to succeed even beyond our sessions. I also understand how challenging the transition into high school or college can be, so I offer advising sessions to help you build a personalized timeline and stay on track toward your goals.

Hi everyone, my name is Amanie Salem. I graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Biology with a 4.0 GPA. Some of my highlights include serving as a medical scribe, contributing to brain research on traumatic injury and cognitive decline, and serving as an advocate and outreach volunteer through the Alzheimer's Association. As a tutor, I bring not only patience and reliability but also a genuine commitment to helping students feel understood, supported, and capable of mastering material that once felt out of reach. I believe in tailoring my approach to each student's unique learning style, building confidence step by step, and making sure no one feels left behind. Hi, my name is Malak Salem. I'm a UCLA alum with a bachelor's degree in Psychobiology. My experiences have centered on working with underserved communities, whether mentoring middle school students to provide better educational opportunities or serving at a community clinic, where I helped deliver health and wellness resources to those most in need. What drives me most is my passion for community work, healthcare, and spreading education. Especially to kids! Hello! My name is Adam Mansour, and I graduated from UCLA studying Psychobiology, which sparked my passion for mentorship. I've supported others in diverse settings, from Cedars-Sinai Hospital and a pulmonary clinic to elementary and middle school classrooms. My name is Jannah Azar. I'm a graduate of UCI with a bachelor's degree in Public Health Sciences, and I've had the privilege of teaching in both academic and faith-based settings. At Saddleback College, I tutored Chemistry and Biology, guiding students through complex concepts and helping them build confidence in subjects that often feel overwhelming. Outside the classroom, I've taught Qur'an to children where I focus on making learning both meaningful and engaging while nurturing consistency, patience, and love for their studies. Hi, my name is Muhammad Azar. I'm a fourth-year Public Health Sciences major at UC Irvine with a 4.0 GPA and associate degrees in Chemistry and Biology. I've worked as an organic chemistry tutor, an ophthalmic technician caring for patients from nursing home seniors to teens with cancer, and done research at UCI—where I presented at a conference as the only student among 200 doctors and healthcare professionals. Most meaningful to me, though, has been working with kids—whether coaching basketball or teaching Quran to ages 6–16—because that's where I feel I make the biggest impact.
